Baby Lounger

Have questions about our Baby Lounger? Find answers to common questions about use, care, safety and materials to help you get the most out of your Sable Bebe lounger.

Lounger Safety Guidelines

Here at Sable Bebe, safety is our top priority. Please note that our Baby Lounger is designed as a temporary space for your baby under direct supervision, and not as a baby bed.

Do not use a baby lounger for any sleep, including supervised sleep. Infants should sleep on a flat, firm, and uncluttered surface that meets current safety standards for infant sleep.

Please follow the below safety guidelines when using our Baby Lounger:

  • Direct supervision is required at all times when using the baby lounger. Never leave your baby in the baby lounger unattended (regardless of whether they are sleeping, resting or playing)
  • Use the baby lounger only for awake and supervised playtime, never for sleep.
  • Do not use the Baby Lounger in a cot, bassinet, moses basket or other enclosed space. The lounger is designed to be used on a firm surface.
  • Avoid using accessories or products that are not specifically designed for use with the baby lounger. This includes pillows, blankets, or toys that can pose a suffocation risk.
  • Do not place the Baby Lounger next to a wall or vertical surface.
  • Do not tilt the Baby Lounger or place it on any surface that it could fall from.
  • Babies should always be placed on their back with their feet touching the bottom of the Baby Lounger.
  • Keep the Baby Lounger away from any open flames.
  • If using our Baby Lounger Linen Covers, ensure cover is securely attached and flattened before placing your baby inside.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and care of the baby lounger. Make sure to use the lounger only as directed, and check for any signs of wear or damage before each use.

Safe sleep guidelines

As per the Red Nose Guidelines, we believe the safest place for your baby to sleep is on a clean, firm mattress in a bassinet or cot, placed on their back. We do not recommend using our Baby Lounger for co-sleeping, overnight sleeping, or any period of unsupervised sleep, under any circumstances. Please refer to the Red Nose Guidelines HERE for the most up-to-date safe sleeping practices.

What is the Lounger Pillow Made from?

Our lounger pillow filling is made out of pearl cotton (inner fabric) and tencel (outer layer).

Pearl Cotton is a mercerized cotton yarn twisted, two-ply thread. This results in it being soft, silky and plush to touch.

Tencel is a natural fibre made from wood pulp which is spun into yarn and then woven into a fabric that is highly absorbent and breathable.

How firm is the insert?

The insert is designed to provide supportive cushioning while maintaining structure, helping your baby feel secure during supervised use.

What is the fit supposed to be like?

Our covers are designed to be snug. For this reason, you may need to play around a little when putting the cover on your lounger to ensure it is sitting correctly.

Is your linen eco-friendly and what certifications for you have?

Yes! Natural French linen is produced without the use of any pesticides and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable - just one of the many reasons we’re so passionate about our products. It also requires less resources to produce, making it a more sustainable fabric.

Both our linen covers and lounger insert are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring they are safe for use with delicate skin. You can read more about this certification here.

Can I wash my baby lounger in the machine?

Yes the baby lounger itself can be machine washed. Please follow the wash instructions above however please note the lounger is not designed to be tumble dried. Instead, lay flat to air dry.

What age range is the lounger suitable for?

Our Lounger is suitable for 0-9 months and can be used during those early months while your baby is in the pre-rolling stage. Once your baby begins rolling, we recommend discontinuing use. However this will really depend on the size and growth of your baby. Ultimately, your lounger can be used until you feel they have outgrown it.

Is the baby lounger portable?

Yes. Lightweight and easy to move around the home, our baby lounger allows you to create a comfortable, familiar space wherever you are.

It’s also travel friendly, ideal for weekends away, visiting grandparents or simply moving from room to room throughout the day. The soft, supportive design helps your little one feel settled in new surroundings, giving you a practical and dependable space when you’re on the go.
